Yurt Details

Yurts are old and they are modern. For hundreds of years the natives of Central Asia, such as Turkmenistan and Siberia utilized yurts because of their sensibility and mobility. Also known as "gurs," yurts are traditionally crafted of felt or canvas. Today, these versatile tents are common replacements for cabins in lots of state parks, including Maryland and Oregon.

Most today's yurts in Canada and the USA are made from highly specialized components. They are planned and crafted to withstand severe weather conditions. Plus assembly is a difficult job, as they are not meant to be moved about.
